Rockhampton Election Kickstart
24 July @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST
Join Senator Larissa Waters and Queensland Greens lead Senate candidate Penny Allman-Payne in Rockhampton to kickstart our campaign to make history by electing a second Greens Senator!
It’s two for one: we can elect a public school teacher, unionist and regional Queenslander to the Senate and we can boot Pauline Hanson out of parliament while we do it! At the next election if 1% of Queenslanders change their vote we can take Hanson’s seat and turn it Green.
With more Greens in the Senate we’ll ensure that the next government works for people, not mining billionaires.
Penny’s a public school teacher that’s worked right across Queensland, from the Torres Strait to Cleveland and now in Gladstone. She’s a unionist and activist who has fought for years to achieve change at a grassroots level, building alliances and organising to defeat injustice and improve working conditions.
She’s a powerful and effective advocate for families and workers, and will passionately represent the interests of all Queenslanders.
When the Greens win seats, we do it with people power, not corporate donations. There is so much at stake this election, by winning a second Greens Senate seat in Queensland we have a real opportunity to get the balance of power in the Senate and ensure we improve the lives of all Queenslanders, by putting dental and mental health care into Medicare, by fully funding our public schools, making university and TAFE free, and by building 210,000 new public homes to clear the social housing waiting list and ensuring everyone has a home.
Come along to our Campaign Kickstart to hear more about how the Greens plan to make billionaires and big corporations pay their fair share will benefit all Queenslanders, and how you can help send Penny to Canberra.
Winning this seat is well within our grasp, but it’s going to take all of us.
